Dolphins going Long?

Several reports are out now saying that Parcells and the Dolphins have been in contact with Michigan offensive tackle Jake Long, and may have even begun contract negotiations.

Now clearly, a 1-15 team will have lots of needs, but I think that the offensive line may be area #1 that needs to be improved. Without a decent O-line, you can't get an offense moving. Assuming Ronnie Brown comes back from his knee surgery, and the 'fins 2 top picks last year don't crap out, man-beast Jake Long would give the big uglies up front some much needed size and strength. The 6'7" 313 lb Wolverine could give 2nd year QB John Beck a few more than the estimated 2.1 seconds he had last year to get rid of the ball.

I should note that I've been advocating Jake Long since we started this blog. I'm a big believer in the value of O-Line, and so is Parcells.

Of course, this could all just be a smokescreen.
