The Miami Hurricanes, after their hotly contested series victory over the Florida State Seminoles over the weekend, are now the unanimous #1 in all major polls. Competition is unprecedentedly fierce in the ACC, where the Noles and the North Carolina Tar Heels are second and third, the order depending on which poll you look at.
Yonder Alonso garnered ACC player of the week honors after batting an unbelievable .556 with 9 RBI's in games against FAU and FSU. On the year, he posts a .380 batting average with 11 HR's (1st in team) and 42 RBI (tied for 1st in team with fellow pimp Jemile Weeks, who for the record leads the team with a .404 batting average).

You have to like the name "Yonder" too. Lots you can do with that (and I'm sure many MLB announcers will be all over it).
It seems like Canes baseball will always be at the top.
"He hit that ball out yonder" is just too tempting a play on words to pass up. I'll give you an example of how much I love that stuff, even if it leaves me wide open to accusations of unparalleled corniness - USF quarterback Matt has shown a lot of Groethe. See? How great did that feel?
Wonderful, and I didn't even say it. You and I are on the same page, EJ
Rusty Smith always makes me giggle when he has a bad start to a game and says he "came out rusty."
On the topic of the Heat, do you guys think Dorrell will have the "Wright" stuff next year?
Sorry, you can't keep encouraging me.
I've been hoping he has the "Wright" stuff all along. He keeps showing flashes of brilliance, but no consistency.
The bigger question: Is it the Wright stuff, or the "Reverend Wright" stuff?
Out of deference to the primary today, I'll withhold all Rev. Wright comments until after the polls in PA close. I can say for certain, however, that either J-Will or J-Won't next season.
