It's Good to Be a Marlins Fan

The simple title of this blog piece, though not all that descriptive, paints a far more generous picture of Marlins fandom than any of us are accustomed to.

The biggest news is obviously the Hanley Ramirez signing, at 6 years $70 million. It's the first good step the franchise has made in restoring a battered relationship with the fans, and I hope the fans reward the team by showing up to games.

The other noteworthy story is that the Marlins happen to be winning...a lot. They've won 5 in a row and now sit atop the NL East at 21-14. What's especially impressive about winning 5 in a row is that all five starters pitched well. Yes, that includes Bad, Ill, and No.

Just how good is this start? It's the best in franchise history. As Mel Brooks might say, "It's good to be the Marlins."
