A-Rod Makes More Than the Marlins? Come Join Us

I found this story, about A-Rod making more than the entire Marlins team on ESPN.com. That's right, in a national medium. What does this say? It says the Marlins are a national joke, a media punching bag, despite two World Series Championships and a slew of great players.

The most pleasant parts of this article are A-Rod's comments. Here's one:

"The Marlins? It's amazing," Rodriguez said. "And they still seem to find a way to be very competitive. They have a great pool of talent; they made some unbelievable trades, so they have great personnel people. To win two championships in 11 years, that's really admirable, and I'm very proud of that organization, being from Miami."

Let me just say that we at The South Florida Fan would loooooove to have you come home and play for the Fish, perhaps as the PR stunt for the new 2011 stadium. Things aren't enjoyable for you in New York. There's no pressure down here, and you can even eat mamma's beef stew.

Loria, A-Rod, Boras (wait...he's been ditched, let's go with Warren Buffet instead), let's make this happen!

I'd welcome you to the ballpark with open arms. We need you at 3B ARod (we have Cantu there now)!

I agree with the post. let's start a campaign for ARod to the Marlins.

A-Rod will be on the Marlins right after Dan Marino comes back and leads the 'fins to a super bowl... A-rod is a plague. Lets count the Marlins world series championships... now lets count A-rod's...
